New Video Blog: The Importance of Self Love

Hi everyone -- another week, another new video up. This time I'm talking a bit about self-love, why it's important, and how I recently found my own breakthrough to the completeness of it about a month ago. So I'll just let myself take it away here...

  1. Enjoyed your latest video, Pam! (Without your makeup, I can really see the 'younger Pam' in you from a pic your sister shared once on FB.) Anyway, there's no denying you have a distinctive voice but I'd hardly compare it to Fran Drescher! But we are always our own worst critics--I was conscious of my own for years, and looking back I see no real reason why. I'm fine, and so are you! (I was just telling my sister last night about your videos, and how easily you seem to deliver your thoughts without hesitation or stammering--that's a great quality to have.)

    1. Thank you for the kind comments, Doug. When I showed a friend the first video I did, she was amazed and asked "HOW did you DO that?" But truth be told I've messed up a little bit on the subsequent videos and had to start them over. And I'm SO glad to hear I'm not the only one that doesn't think I sound like Fran Drescher!

  2. Hi Pam. This comes at a pretty opportune moment for me. A friend recently made me aware of some things about myself that I wanna change, and loving myself a lot more is one of them. Having her respect means a great deal to me. I don't wanna let her down. So I'm gonna do what I can. We actually talked about this whole law of attraction business. I told her about you, because I knew you believed in it. I'm not saying I do too... but I'm willing to listen. So thanks for talking about it.

BTW, I once worked with a woman who had a super-thick Brooklyn accent like something out of an old movie, the kind you hardly ever hear anymore. Your voice is as nothing in comparison, believe me.

    1. Hey Rich, thanks for the comments, the referral to your friend, and I'm glad to know there's some additional GR readers that don't mind listening to me prattle on in these videos. :) Happy to know as well the video resonated with you and is inspiring you to make some changes. Ah yes, that Brooklyn accent can be pretty heavy handed! Relieved to know my voice is more subdued by comparison.

  3. Hi Pam,

I'm new to your blog. I found you through your goretro site; I love all things retro, so I really enjoy that. Then I found this site. I'm trying to catch up on your videos and posts and really find them inspirational. As for your voice, I'm baffled that anyone ever made fun of it. I like your voice and love your accent (and you sound nothing like Fran Drescher). I enjoy different accents. I really don't like it when everyone sounds alike, like they just got out of broadcasting school. I am from the South and have a bit of an accent myself, so I understand. In fact, a few people have mocked me to my face. I just consider the source. Anyway, I just wanted you to know I enjoy your posts and videos. I'm getting a lot out of them. Thanks for doing them.

    1. H Dana - thanks so much for the comments on both of my blogs! Happy to attract a new follower for both and glad to hear you find this one useful. It's funny, but ever since I started making these videos I'm no longer self-conscious about my voice or care what others make think of it...it's one of the things that make me unique. Sorry to hear that people have made fun of your charming Southern accent, but you have the right attitude! Cheers,
      Pam
